Aconcagua - the Stone Sentinel
Aconcagua, the “Stone Sentinel,” is the highest mountain in the Americas and the tallest peak outside of Asia, standing at a breathtaking 6,961 meters (22,837 feet). Located in Argentina’s Mendoza province, Aconcagua is part of the Andes mountain range and offers incredible views and a unique challenge for climbers from around the world.
Despite its impressive altitude, Aconcagua is considered a non-technical climb via its Normal Route, making it one of the most accessible "Seven Summits" for experienced trekkers. No advanced climbing skills are needed, but proper acclimatization and physical preparation are crucial for a successful summit attempt.
Aconcagua expeditions usually take 15-20 days, allowing time for gradual acclimatization and multiple camp setups along the route. You’ll experience a variety of stunning landscapes, from arid valleys to icy glaciers, as you ascend toward the summit.
