I truly love thinking about how women can be sisters to one another - a source of support and strength. The idea that each woman carries incredible power within herself, and that together we are even stronger, is something that moves and inspires me deeply.
I’m proud to be a woman. I want to give my daughters the sense that every path in this world is open to them. I want to contribute to the global community of women- that’s the heart behind this annual run I’ve envisioned.
What I really want to say: You are not alone. We are here, and together, we’ve got this.

mission

CODE PINK RUN is more than just a race.

It’s a movement that unites women of all ages and professions to show support for one another. While awareness and care matter for all women, our special mission is to bring this message to the women in tech across North Carolina. Geeks Go Peaks is a community of developers, geeks, coders, technologists, and founders who inspire, support, and grow together. We believe that women in technology should not only be seen but also supported, especially in difficult moments. This run is our chance to come together, show our strength, and build a powerful sisterhood among those shaping the digital future.

We run for our mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends. We run for those who are fighting, those who have fought, and those we've lost. Every step we take together is a step toward hope and healing.

All proceeds from this event go directly to support women battling breast cancer. With every mile, we honor their courage and help bring about meaningful change.

This is our space - fierce, supportive, full of fire and heart.

Together, we are unstoppable. 💗

You Are Not Alone: Why Breast Cancer Awareness Matters
Breast cancer is not just a medical statistic – it’s a reality that millions of women face. In the United States, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. In North Carolina, the breast cancer incidence rate is 143.2 per 100,000 women, which is above the national average.

But behind these numbers are real stories – stories of struggle, hope, and strength. Many women say the hardest part of the journey is the feeling of isolation. That’s why it’s important to remember: you are not alone. Thousands of women are going through this, and together we can create a community of support and solidarity.
Breast cancer awareness plays a vital role in early detection, which significantly increases the chances of successful treatment. It also helps break the stigma around the disease and builds strong support networks for those fighting it.

Join us on September 21, 2025, on the American Tobacco Trail in Durham. Let’s take this step together – for awareness, for support, and for hope.

All proceeds will go to the Pretty In Pink Foundation.
